RAPID REFERENCE GUIDE



The Rapid Reference Guide was launched at Matopos National Park at a colourful and ground breaking event in September 2019. This piece of literature has so far made positive in roads in light of the enhancement of Prosecution of wildlife crimes as enunciated by Prosecutors who have so far used the toolkit in prosecuting wildlife crimes. The toolkit brings to the fore all the major wildlife crimes as enunciated by our laws, exhibits the points to prove for every offence and the types of evidence to be produced in order to sustain a conviction under each charge for a certain offence. Added to that, in summations the toolkit is an expose of all the relevant legal knowledge one needs to effectively and efficiently prosecute wildlife crimes.

The event was graced by all the stakeholders we work with in our fight for the protection of animals through the legal system. Stakeholders present at the event included National Director of Public Prosecutions and his Prosecutors from the National Prosecuting Authority, senior police officers from the Zimbabwe Republic Police MFFU, Matebeleland South Chief Magistrate, Permanent Secretary and delegates from the Ministry of Environment, delegates from the Judicial Services Commission and members from the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.
